You never know when or where you're going to find your inspiration. It may be a common object that's been around your house for ages, a pattern in a wall, an element of nature, a painting, architecture, maths, the possibilities are endless.
One thing I'm pretty sure of is that all of us- crocheters/knitters- have had Oh I can crochet/knit this moments.
Years ago I bought a light yellow leaf-shaped vase but it hasn't been until now that I have had my epiphany with it (well, sort of...).
It's is a fairly large vase so my first option was to use t-shirt yarn but as working with it can be very hard- specially if your trying a new design- my first approach was to crochet a minute one with light yarn and a small hook.
When I was happy with the results I moved on to the heavy t-shirt yarn version but I finally made a couple of modifications to the pattern.
I was going to post the pattern but for some reason I'm unable to decide which version should I post (maybe the fact that is 3 a.m. does not help at all).
So, my dearest readers, it would be very kind of you to you leave a comment telling me the option that you like the most and help me to clear things up. Next week, I will edit this entry and post the most voted pattern.

Join and fasten off.
Now, the reason of crocheting the last two rows in a different way in option 2 is that the yarn is too heavy so if I make a TR- which is a very tall stitch- the gaps between the stitches are more noticeable, not matter how tight I crochet. By substituting the TR for a DC and crocheting as tight as I can, the gaps are the average size and the transition between stitches is smother.
That's all for today which is no small thing.
Catch you next Sunday!
